What a lucid, comprehensive argument. Loved reading it!

Also, there can be entire volumes written on the gendering on words. Lexical discrimination based on gender is one of the biggest reasons why patriarchy and sub-systems thereof have been able to exist in our society for the longest time. Telling girls they ‘should’ be certain things, telling boys to behave a certain way, and then giving them adjectives to grow up with — these inputs embed the notion of gendered identities in language and disable children from ever questioning or even really understanding their own roles in their own genders. Such linguistic crutches (no trigger intended) limit people from being all that they can be, because sexist language can only take you so far. And you’re right, Kristen, this is an exciting time in history and I truly hope women such as yourself can reach to the masses and make them at least take a closer look at how they see the difference between men and women and maybe give it more positivity than society would allow.
